According to the legend, some shepherds found the image of the Virgin next to a fountain, on the mountain of Pallerols. They took it down to the village, but it is said that the image returned to the place where it had been found. For this reason, a small chapel was built at the foot of the fountain.
This festival is held on the third Sunday in September, and its most notable feature is the decoration of the streets through which the procession passes.
In the morning, the streets are filled with people who, with frenetic activity, create small works of art using different materials such as "serrín" and "caracolillo". These materials, dyed in different colours and with different shapes, become ephemeral carpets that fill the streets of the village with joy, festivity, and visitors.
