Fairs, festivals and traditions

The beginnings of the woodworking industry in our town can be traced back to the dragger work, which used to bring down wood from the Els Ports Natural Park by horse. Throughout the 20th century, this industry developed and grew, making La Sénia the main producer of modern furniture in Spain and a reference point for the sector in Catalonia.
La Sénia Wood and Furniture Crafts Fair, which has been held every October since 2009, is a project created to stimulate, promote, and dignify the local craft sector, which contributes to the promotion of the entire wood sector as a whole and also involves a large part of the commercial and industrial fabric of the town.
It should be noted that this fair is recognised by the Consortium of Commerce, Handicrafts and Fashion of Catalonia as the only monographic fair of crafts specialising in wood and furniture in Catalonia.
